Our Values
Certainly, here are five crucial values for a company offering digital literacy to vulnerable communities:
- Inclusivity: Ensuring that everyone from vulnerable communities like women, youth, disabled and IDP’s to have access to digital literacy resources and opportunities.
- Empowerment: Providing individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to navigate the digital world independently and confidently. Additionally, they can use these skills to start online businesses or acquire digital jobs to empower their livelihoods.
- Equity: Promoting fairness and equality by addressing the digital divide and ensuring that all members of vulnerable communities have equal access to digital literacy programs, resources and opportunities.
- Community Engagement: Actively involving the community in the development and implementation of digital literacy initiatives to ensure they are relevant and effective.
- Sustainability and Climate Change: Establishing programs and partnerships that support long-term sustainability, enabling ongoing access to digital literacy resources and support for vulnerable communities. Educating the communities about climate change andd its long term effect to communities through the Climate-Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) Strategy
Who We Are
Glaxotech E-Learning Smart Skills Initiative ub & Center (GESSIHC) was founded officially in 2021 post Covid19 it is the CSR arm of Glaxotech E-Learning Ltd an Edtech company founded in 2017 that offers blended training to enable the marginalised people to Learn, Unlearn and Relearn in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In 2021, we started some pilot programs for our CBO projects through the GESSIHC HUB aimed at Women, Youth, and Refufees for skilling, upskilling encouraging the participants to leverage on the harnessing of remote and online work opportunities as well as creating jobs for the Future of Work.
Impact
Through strategic partnerships, the team at Glaxotech Skills Hub have been involved in several projects collectively mentioned below
Trained 17,000 youths in Kenya and 70,000 trained across Africa in 5 months
1 million youth trained in 9 months, ToT soft skills training for Google’s DSA program in a 3 country road show 285 trainers trained in Kenya, South Africa, and Nigeria. and GBG WomenWill marginalised and rural women entrepreneurs digital skills training in Kakuma Refugee camp & Women in Energy Lari Rural Women’s project in Kiambu.
5 million women trained across Africa was part of the TOT, and monitoring and evaluation. Google/SAP sponsored Africa Code Week project trained 100 teachers in western and central Kenya and over 800 students in primary and high school on computer skills and Facebook Developers Circles for tertiary coding programs.
Facebook Instagram Loeries challenge with 450+ Digital Marketers trained. Refugee Council’s (NRCs) Refugee Employment and Skills Initiative (RESI2) is a programme by the International Trade Centre (ITC) as a technical skills partner delivery partner with 370 participants trained in Digital Skills
#ItsUpToUs Webinars for Educators with Shule Africa across 7 Countries in East, West and Southern Africa and WorkWomenNetwork USAIDs Digital Future Program as a training partner for 500 women entrepreneurs.
